Our film Society is based in the village of East Garston in the Lambourn Valley of the Racehorse in Berkshire. The Society was formed in 2005 and is a member of the British Federation of Film Societies. We offer films from a wide range of genres, countries, and periods. These include dramas, comedies and thrillers that may be golden oldies (including black-and-white) or more recent productions. The films are from all around the world, and hence, may require subtitles.
Our mission is to show films that you may not choose for yourself, or which you've never heard of before, but which you will find interesting and be pleased to have watched at our Society. To help ensure that this happens, the film selection process requires that some committee members watch every film in advance, and not just depend on ratings or reviews. Further, at the end of each film, we ask the audience to rate the film anonymously. The rating results will be posted to this website, including some comments made on the ratings slip. Films are rated by our members from A to E and a numerical Reaction Index calculated from these ratings.
We show films at East Garston village hall, offering a convivial atmosphere including a social club bar where we take food orders to be delivered during a film interval. Films are shown using a projector with widescreen and surround sound in a hall with raised seating. The hall used has disabled access.

Membership for the next season, Season Fourteen (2018/19), consisting of 10 films, costs £32. You can join at any film showing. Optionally, print and fill in the membership form and bring it along. If you don't want to become a member just yet, then you can come as a guest for £6 per film. Call a member of the committee to come as a guest - see contacts for details.
Films are usually shown on the first Tuesday of the month, October - June, in East Garston village hall at 7.30pm. Doors (and the social bar) open 7pm. Last food orders 7.20pm for delivery at the interval.
